Chun Quoit West Cornwall - Two studies of this wonderful ancient site. Both taken on the same day. The one above was taken lying down to take in the sky. The shot below was taken from a higher point to take in the sea. Phil

Chun Quoit West Cornwall - Take the A30 out of Penzance and turn right towards Pendeen, there is a small parking place opposite Kenidjack (The Hooting Carn). You can just see Chun Quoit in the distance. Sitting in a nature reserve this whole area is full of wonderful references to Cornwall's Ancient past. Close by is Chun Castle. Phil

Between worlds West Cornwall - Yes I know I am being vague here, the location is to the left of Perranuthnoe Beach over a couple of almost hidden coves. Only really accessible at low tide this is a place where there are never really any other footprints apart from you own. You feel you are looking out over a landscape that has not changes through millennia and you can feel the dreams of all those who have stood here before you. Bliss Phil

The Ballowall Barrow Chamber Tomb St Just West Cornwall - 1 mile out of St Just and an easy walk and right next to the small road to Carn Gloose. This superb monument looks out over the sea towards Cape Cornwall and Cot Valley. The air here is pure and full of energy. A place to reflect on the past and future. Every step in this area is steeped in Cornish History but with a real sense of the natural landscape being a constant in that history. Phil

Looking Towards Cot Valley from Carn Gloose near St Just. For visitors to West Cornwall, it is easy to drive through St Just or stop off for supplies without realising the wealth of stunning walks there are in this area. Again and again we come back to this stretch of coastline and the changing seasons offer so much more to see. There is magic in the air here and at the same time Cornish industrial heritage is all around to see. Phil

Wheal Peevor - taken from a new gallery all about this important Cornish Heritage site - click here to view [Genius Loci Location Rating 5/5]
Porthtowan Beach - Not featured enough on this website so expect to see some more pics over the next few days. When the tide is out this is an incredible stretch of beach. To the left you can see Portreath and the right St Agnes with Wheal Coates on the cliff top. Phil

Restormel Castle Lostwithiel - Although a small castle is has plenty of atmosphere and is in a spectacular spot. You can always pop into Lostwithiel for a cream tea afterwards! Phil

Porthcurno Beach at High Tide Cornwall - This is a very spectacular place to capture the ocean in full flight. Especially true when the tide is reaching its highest point. If you are new to Porthcurno Beach position yourself towards the left hand side of the beach and be prepared to move quickly. At high tide the sea is very rough due to the incline on the beach so respect the red flags which usually fly at high tide. Phil

Footpath near Cape Cornwall - Obviously taken before the weather turned! Footpaths are a wonderful subject and the viewer is always left wondering.....Phil

Storm Clouds over Loe Bar - Our knack for choosing walk around Loe Bar and been caught in a thunderous shower must be un-equalled! A fantastic walk but if it rains at this point there is no where to hide. Also the sea here is very rough and dangerous. The incline from the beach into the sea is dip so be careful if you have small children with you. Phil

Looking towards Long Ships Lighthouse from the Sennen to Lands End Coastal Path. Very easy and inspiring walk this. At either end you have access to Cream Teas and a pint of real ale. The best way to approach Lands End is from this coastal path, park at Sennen. Phil

Sea Gull over St Michaels Mount. Taken at 9pm in the evening so the ISO setting was very high on the Canon 50D. Although there is a bit of noise on the photo I still think its quite dramatic. Phil
