Charlestown is a magical place. with the tall ships in the harbour it is like being transported back to an earlier time or simply feeing like you are on a film set for Pirates of the Caribbean!
The Pier House is also very convenient for the Eden Project which is only 4.5 miles away and also close to one of our favourite places Menabily. Good food and a traditional bar very Cornish and the whole port steeped in history. For kids there are pirate ships, rock pools and the sea right in front of the hotel.

Situated on the South West coastal path you can take a stroll over the cliff tops to Porthpean Beach and village or to Carlyon Bay in the opposite direction. Charlestown beach is directly in front of the hotel. There are lots of rock pools to explore.

The patio area which seats up to 90 people has wonderful views across Charlestown harbour and St Austell Bay. The History
Charlestown is a Georgian port remaining relatively unspoilt and undeveloped
reflecting how many West Country ports and fishing coves looked prior to
development being one of the finest late 18th and early 19th century industrial
harbour sites in the country.
A location for many period films and dramas
In 1993 the harbour was purchased by Square Sail Shipyard and became the home of the tall ships which are used for many films, including:
