Rock Pool at Fistral Beach Newquay Cornwall. The sea was very calm almost like a lake. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 3/5]
Towards Commando Ridge in West Cornwall. Just outside of Morvah on the North Coast, some dramatic rocks and more Cornish Heritage. The sea appears a wonderful turquoise here especially close to shore. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 5/5]
Botallack Mine Workings West Cornwall - Most people take a picture onf the Crowns and head off along the coast. Just venture anywhere in this area and you will find a wealth of Mining Heritage. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 5/5]
Bodmin Moor Cornwall - Just beyond the Hurlers Stone Circles and looking towards The Cheese wring. Park at Minions, great pub (does wonderful Sunday Lunch) and tea rooms opposite. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 5/5]
Coast between Loe Bar and Porthleven - Bit of a grey day so a black and white image seemed to work better. I liked the power of nature aspect with the steps down to the beach stopping half way due to coastal erosion. Phil
[Genius Loci Location Rating 4/5]
St Michaels Mount - Wonderful warm afternoon in Marazion, quite a few visitors around, some brave children in the sea as it must be very cold. Went for a nice Hot Chocolate at the Godolphin Arms. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 4/5]
Gunwalloe Coastal Path - Near Church Cove. The sea is just out of shot to the left of the image. Most people seem to head for Church Cove with its idyllic Church, but the coastal path near Gunwalloe it dramatic and inspiring with lots of fascinating features. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 4/5]
Seals at Godrevy. Quiet a common site near Godrevy. Seals chill out in the Sun. Follow the coastal path with the lighthouse on your left. I took this shot lying down peering over the edge, which is probably the safest way as it is a sheer drop down to where the seals are!. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 5/5]
Another study of the Crown's Engine Houses. Perched on the edge of the cliffs. Looks romantic doesn't it?. Up close you get a real sense of the treacherous job it must of been working in all weathers so near to the cliff face. This whole coastline is worth a visit, truly inspiring for the body and spirit. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 5/5]
Kenidjack Valley near St Just. This shot was taken looking back up the valley and the mine workings used for target practice by the Army many moons ago! I'll feature some other shots soon as you get a different perspective on Cape Cornwall from this area. Please note the coastal path at the end of the valley is VERY narrow and not suitable for children. Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 5/5]
