Cornwall photography - Cudden Point

Cudden Point is one my favourite places in Cornwall.  This part of the coastal path has an almost spiritual dimension and this page is dedicated to this area.  Phil

Cudden Point Cornwall

Cudden point looks fantastic from either side, like a sleeping dragon, do you dare walk along its spines?

Sacred Cudden Point Cornwall

Another view of Cudden Point, taken beneath the cliffs, just out of sight were 10+ Basking Sharks, it was just starting to rain.  This is a wonderful spot a truly wonderful walk with a great Ice Cream at the end of it at Perranuthnoe Beach Cafe. [Genius Loci Location Rating 5/5]

view towards Kenneggy

View towards Kenneggy Sands Beach - The beach itself is right in the distance.  I took this shot from the end of Cudden Point.  Usually the wind and sea are quite rough here so climbing this far of the humps not something I would normally do.  However on this day the sea was like a lake and there was no breeze at all.  Phil [Genius Loci Location Rating 4/5]

Towards St Michaels Mount from Cudden Point

Looking towards St Michaels Mount from Cudden Point - Taken at the base of the cliffs at high tide.  There is a almost hidden foot path just before the national trust sign which lets you get right down to the sea.  On a day like this with the sea very calm it is very meditative.  Usually the sea is quite rough here so be careful if going down in less tranquil conditions.  Phil (full gallery on Cudden coming soon)

Cudden Point before the storm cclick image to enlarge

Cudden Point before the storm - click image to enlarge - Regular visitors to the Genius Loci website will know that Cudden Point is a favourite location of ours.  Here you can imagine the rock on the right (Cudden Point) being a dragon taking a rest in the shallows.  5 mins later the heavens opened and we got very wet.  Phil

Perranuthnoe Beach towards Cudden Point

Perranuthnoe Beach looking towards Cudden Point - Taken in the evening (7.40pm) June 2nd.  The Sun was going down behind St Michaels Mount.  Perranuthnoe Beach is huge when the tide is out and there are many rock pools full of fish for the kids to catch.  It is also a great place to swim, especially when the tide is coming in across the warm sand.  When it is high tide the beach practically disappears so try to go at low tide.  There is also a nice beach cafe and art centre nearby.  Phil
