From Hedgerow to High Tor is a record of some of the flora
and fauna common to the West Country. Wildlife artist Dick
Twinney is a painter for all seasons. His paintings have life-like detail, art oozing colour and character, taking you to the edge of reality, his animals appearing out of their backgrounds as you approach them. His deep love of the countryside and the wildlife that inhabits it is reflected in the pages of this book, confirming him to be in the vanguard of British wildlife art. |
Although his paintings, prints and giftware have spread worldwide and many of the books he has illustrated are American, he still thinks of himself as a local artist, passionate about Cornwall and it's wildlife. A real countryman, Dick always spends several hours each day in the 'field' walking with the family dogs over the moors, along the coast and through the local woods, observing wildlife in it's natural habitat and seeking inspiration for his paintings.
Dick publishes his own limited edition prints and is a member and supporter of the county's 'Made In Cornwall' scheme. His work appears frequently in West country newspapers and magazines, especially the Western Morning News where his paintings appear each week in the feature, THE ART OF DICK TWINNEY
