Cornwall arts and music from genius loci

Genius Loci

Genius Loci was born following the release of Sacred Landscapes by Sue Aston back in 1999.

Since then we have evolved into a successful design and media company supporting Cornish businesses whilst still being a unique guide for visitors to Cornwall.

Violin Intensives master classes  in Cornwall with Composer and violinist Sue Aston

Also includes help with stage fright and anxiety

2 miles from Prussia Cove Cornwall

Cornish Composer Sue Aston has appeared on professional classical recordings, radio broadcasts, and television, both nationally and internationally, and worked with eminent musicians such as: Simon Rattle, Nigel Kennedy (violin), Peter Donohoe, Yehudi Menuhin, Sir Charles Groves,  Esa Pekka Salonen, Gordon Giltrap and Chris De Burgh.

I offer tuition to people who want to take the opportunity to immerse themselves in music for an hour or so during the daytime or evening.

This leaves the majority of the day to explore or simply relax in the beautiful Cornish Landscape. The nearest town Penzance is 2 miles away and the World famous IMS masterclass sessions take place in Prussia Cove which is also 2 miles away. There is a rich tradition in music throughout the area.

Accommodation is not included although we can help recommend places to stay where we have close contacts and arrange transport to and from your lesson if required
Perhaps there is something in particular that you would like to achieve with your violin playing.
For example, would you like to broaden your playing with duet work, or is there an area of your technique that she would like to
concentrate on?

Sue Aston, a professional violinist and composer, hosts intensive violin sessions

Sue Aston, a professional violinist and composer, from Goldsithney (near Prussia Cove) Cornwall holds regular intensive courses for violinists.

Students are travelling from as far away as California USA, Tokyo Japan as well as from across Britain to enjoy a period of intensive study with Sue, who holds violin teaching courses regularly throughout the year.

Sue says,’ My aim is to give people the opportunity to take time out of their hectic working schedule, and come to a beautiful part of the world, where they can draw inspiration from the landscape, which will in turn inspire their music making. The students themselves are from many different backgrounds, and quite often want to achieve different goals. I coach students who are aiming to enter Music College, as well as adults who play for pleasure and who want to take their playing ability to a new level.’  I am taking bookings right up to the end of 2008'
