Our Cornish cottages have spectacular views over fields, moors and sea and are
within easy walking distance of many ancient Cornish sites including the
iron-age village of Chysauster, The Nine Maidens Stone Circle, Lanyon Quoit, the
Mên-an-Tol, and Chûn Castle as well as many interesting reminders of early
Cornish mining history. Ding Dong Cottages provide a perfect base for walking,

Bal Cottage stands in an enviable position, surrounded by fields and
moorland: a unique country home for families or friends. This is a place for all
seasons, light and spacious but delightfully warm and comfortable in winter,
with spectacular landscapes and seascapes to enjoy at all times of the year.
LOUNGE: The large upstairs lounge has picture windows on two sides and includes
a wide bay window facing west, perfect for viewing the often spectacular
sunsets. It is well furnished, with a comfortable old fashioned three-piece
suite, extra tables and chairs plus a well stocked library area. There is a
Morsø Squirrel multifuel stove for cosy evenings at home. There are two ground
floor bedrooms, each with a 4’6” double bed and a hand wash basin with hot and
cold water. There is also an excellent shower and separate toilet in this part
of the cottage, all of which are accessed by stairs down from the lounge.
KITCHEN: The large kitchen/dining room has a wood-block floor, natural wood
furniture and features its original huge granite fireplace, now housing a solid
fuel stove to provides hot water and full central heating for the cottage when
needed. There is an immersion heater to give hot water when the stove is not
alight. There is a full sized modern gas cooker with extractor hood and fan, a
spacious fridge/freezer, filter coffee maker and cafetiére, electric toaster,
iron and ironing board, plus a plentiful supply of kitchen and table-ware.
FACILITIES: 32” wide screen digital television receiving all Freeview channels,
video cassette player/recorder, DVD player/recorder, AM/VHF radio, CD player and
cassette recorder/player, plus various games and a wide collection of books.
Double glazed throughout and with trickle vents on most windows. Wireless
Broadband.
OUTSIDE: Small patio with bench seat. Garden seating. Barbecue. Adjacent parking
space.
LINEN & BEDDING: A feather/down duvet, cover, and under sheet per bed. Four
feather and/or synthetic pillows with slips per bed. Cot and folding bed if
required. Extra linen by arrangement. Towels tea-towels are not provided unless
requested. Electric blanket on each bed. (Dual control on one).
HEATING: Central heating by solid fuel stove in kitchen. An immersion heater
supplies hot water when the stove is not in use. Electric towel rail in shower
cubicle. Electricity and gas are included in the rental. Our charges are based
upon four people staying at Bal Cottage and there may be a small surcharge for
additional adults. Children are normally included in our prices.

Ding Dong Cottages Cornwall - The Loft

A charming rural base for two, "The Loft" has a spacious upstairs living room
with stunning views in every direction. The well equipped ground floor kitchen
and adjacent dining room face South, catching the sun from dawn onwards and
giving fine views over the cottage garden and countryside beyond, to St
Michael's Mount and Mount's Bay, with the Lizard peninsular on the horizon,
twenty miles away.
BEDROOM: The tiny bedroom is up a short flight of loft type steps and has a
built in double bed with splendid sea views. Because of size limitations there
is only limited storage space in the bedroom - an under-bed space for a
suit-case etc, a cubby hole with lid behind the bed, a fabric 5-pocket hanging
storage unit, two shelves and a clothes hanging rail.
FACILITIES: The compact space below the bedroom consists of the WC (separate
door), hand-wash basin with Sadia wall heater and a curtained shower cubicle
with thermostatic temperature control, as well as an electrically heated towel
rail.
KITCHEN: Full sized gas cooker, electric toaster, cafetiére, iron and ironing
board, a plentiful supply of kitchen and table-ware and a refrigerator with ice
box.
LINEN & BEDDING: A duvet with cover, under sheet and four pillows with slips is
included. The duvet and pillows are synthetic filled. Extra linen can be
supplied by prior arrangement. The bed-settee in the lounge may be used as
additional sleeping space and a cot is available if needed.
FACILITIES: Music centre (CD, radio, twin cassette & record player), colour
television with FreeView box, DVD player, books, games and a clavichord. Double
glazed throughout. Small garden with table and bench seats for alfresco eating
or sitting in the sun.
ELECTRICITY/HEATING: A variety of electric heaters is used in The Loft: a two
bar radiant fire in the living room, a convector and oil-filled type in the
other rooms. An electric towel rail is fitted in the shower area and an electric
blanket for the bed is also included. There are Sadia type water heaters above
the sink and wash basin. All of the above are supplied from the £1 slot meter
but costs are usually very moderate as the cottage is well insulated. In
addition there is a 3Kw storage heater in the dining room and the power for that
is included in the rental. Hot water for the shower comes from our domestic
supply and is available at all times at no extra cost.
The charges are based upon two people staying and there may be a small surcharge
for additional adults staying in The Loft. Children are normally included in our
prices.

Ding Dong Cottages Cornwall - The Cabin

Tucked away at the end of our long and rather wild garden, The Cabin
provides uninterrupted views across the surrounding countryside and
towards the sea. It is only a stone's throw from the Penwith moors, giving direct access to the nearby Men-an-Tol and Nine Maidens , with the north coast and its coastal path less than two miles away. |
The Cabin is a snug wooden building, cosy and warm at all times of the year.
It has a good sized living room with a Put-u-Up bed settee, 14" television with
FreeView box and a small refrigerator with freezer compartment. Cable connection
for internet access.
The kitchen has a full sized gas cooker with oven, 4 burners & grill. There is a
sink with draining board, a hot and cold water supply and plentiful supply of
cooking utensils. The washroom has an excellent power shower, a pedestal wash
basin with hot and cold water and WC.
There is a large verandah outside which catches the sun from early morning until
late evening - ideal for relaxing out of doors - and a small porch which forms a
natural sun trap and wind cheater.
The Cabin makes a perfect retreat for artists, naturalists and wildlife lovers
or for anyone just wishing to get away from city life or to be far from the
madding crowd.

Bal Cottage, The Loft and The Cabin, are situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where rabbits gambol, buzzards hover and you may sometimes glimpse a fox, badger or barn owl. Although remote in feeling, the cottages are only five miles North of Penzance and within easy reach of St ives, Land's End, Marazion and Mousehole. They are ideally placed for walks over the surrounding moors and countryside, with many paths winding amongst gorse, heather and moorland flowers. It is even possible to see the sea on both coasts from our high vantage point; the North coast being only a couple of miles walk over the moors from here.
