Genius Loci Web Management Services

Hosting plans and SEO plans are based on a 12 month periods.

genius loci produce projects where every effort is made to display the pages acceptably on most popular browsers currently available, however we cannot accept responsibility for pages which don’t display properly on versions of browsers released after the project is completed.

The client is ultimately responsible for checking the correctness of the site.

Late payments will be charged interest at our rate of 8.5%.

Termination of web services

A 3 month notice period is required for any termination of web service

Although the copyright for written material belongs to the client all copyright for photography belongs to genius loci. The exception to this would be where the photography was part of a shoot organised and paid for by the client.

SEO Promotion

Prior to search engine promotion work being undertaken genius loci we require the following assurances from the client that:

The client has not employed the services of another search engine optimisation or promotion company to work on the web site at the same time. This includes search engine submission services.

The client has not created any duplicate sites, redirects or doorway pages.

You must inform us if this is the case.

The client has not requested or exchanged links with link farms or undertaken any spamming techniques which may harm the web site's ranking with Google.
No link exchanges or pay for click services must take place without prior consultation from genius loci.

Getting any website in a high position is not easy, some techniques work first time others don’t. Search engine optimization is very labour intensive and you may not see the results for weeks or months. The SEO process does require patience. Contracts are for 12 months although we do offer 6 months contracts for some clisnts.

All of genius loci SEO services are performed to the best of our knowledge and ability.
Ranking results will be performed once or per month or as agreed by both parties. Results are based on listings on www.Google.co.uk and up to 3 other top search engines. We will also include key overseas directories as part of our contract.

We would expect to achieve the desired position for your chosen search term within 3-6 months of the optimised pages going live. New sites can take up to 12 months before results become apparent. The work we carry out will benefit positions on search engines other than Google, such as Yahoo and MSN.

Definition of results:

It is not possible to give a 100% guarantee for any specific result on any search engine, nor can we quantify the level of increased traffic or sales, as a result of the SEO campaign.

Please bear in mind, your website's ranking with a particular Search Term will rely on both the relevancy of that term on your pages, and the popularity of that term on other websites.

Both SEO Set Up and Updates require FTP access to the website, or a contact email address for someone who will upload changes as requested.

Your website should be hosted on a reliable server, based in the UK (or the country of Search Engine interest).
We recommend that you host your site with genius loci to protect the interests of your website's ranking within the Search Engines.

genius loci cannot be held responsible for slipping or unsatisfactory Search Engine Ranking results if SEO suggestions have not been adhered to.

genius loci cannot be held responsible for problems or additional costs arising due to any errors made by third parties, or failure to maintain a current copy of your own website.

Disclaimer:

As search engines change their ranking algorithms on a regular basis, no guarantee can be given as to how long a site will retain its ranking unless a maintenance contract is set up with genius loci. Additionally, new sites and potentially competitor web sites are being optimised and submitted every day. The best way to ensure that you maintain your rankings, once achieved, is to arrange a maintenance contract with genius loci.

If rankings slip or disappear after a search engine update, genius loci is not responsible for this as many things could have caused this to happen including server issues and any other outside factor.
